"Change doesn't come from what you're doing. It comes from who you're being." --Vicky White, Life Design Strategies, www.lifedesignstrategies.com

Lately, my husband Pete and I have been taking a closer look at how we communicate. We're not just arguing, we're arguing about who started the argument!

More than once, I've heard myself declare, "I teach communication skills and I know how to communicate." It can't be me who starts these fights!" Silly, right?

We've both decided we want to change this dysfunctional pattern and improve our relationship. This means I need to be a more mindful, effective communicator --- all the time, not just when I feel like it. As Vicky White reminds me, I don't have to stand on my head and DO all kinds of tricks and techniques... I simply have to BE who I want to BE.
